"A Good Year" A/W23
Journey with us to Languedoc, one of France’s most acclaimed wine regions to celebrate ‘A Good Year’. Our characters are toasting their success in producing the best vintage in a generation as they enjoy the first tastings from 2022. As the sun sets and the vines cool, enjoy the very best of autumn style in the most luxurious of surroundings. The mood of celebration has been translated by our design team in our October edit through vivid colours and rich textures offering a distinctly bohemian vibe with a luxury finish.
The wines of Languedoc in the South of France are considered by wine experts to be amongst the best in the world.We filmed our story at Chateau Saint-Hilare which produces a variety of wines each year. We arrived just after the 2023 harvest but the vineyard team kindly left a few grapes on the vines for us to shoot. We were also treated to some early samplings of the 2022, which were truly delicious albeit still very young.
Behind the Scenes
We filmed this campaign over several days in September 2023 on the estate of Chateau Saint-Hilare in Languedoc, South of France. Covering 200 acres, the Chateau was the perfect location for our story and we're truly grateful to the family owners for allowing us to film on their estate. Our hosts welcomed our cast and crew for several days and treated us to the very best of French hospitality with wine tasting, lodgings (and pool access).This included a tasting of young barrel samples of the previous year's harvest from 2022. A good year indeed.
Given the wine making process, it's almost a 12 month wait until the vineyard can taste its produce of any given year. En primeur or "wine futures", is a method of purchasing wines early while the wine (a vintage) is still in the barrel.
